Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

A letter post marked from Madrid, Spain arrived at our home on 12 May 16 addressed to my wife. Within the envelope, a letter was enclosed with a check stating that my wife had been selected as a secret shopper for Walmart. The letter had no return address and the check looks fraudulent.

The check, which looks official was issued from Walmart in the amount of $1,982.55.  The bank of the check was Wachovia Bank.
