I received an email which stated that Kroger grocery stores were looking for secret customers. I signed up via the form given and gave my phone number and address. They informed me that my first assignment would be mailed to me. I received the priority mail envelope which included a letter and a cashier’s check for $2,850. The letter was asking me to purchase itune gift cards at Kroger,Target, Walgren, Costco, Rite Aid, KMart, Publix, Best Buy in the amounts of $500 – $1,000. The denominations were to be in $100 or $50. I was to keep $300 as my commission. The wording on the letter, the amount of the check, various addresses and emails, and instructions to follow all set up a red flag. Fortunately, I did not cash the check.

Mystery shopper letter stating that I need to deposit the check "immediately" and funds would be available in 24 hours. Of course it would be available, but you need to wait until the check clears because they wanted you to forward funds to the "next" shopper. Just crazy to think that people are falling for this – taking people hard earned money.
