Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Hello, after applying online I received an email, had a short interview online and was hired. I was then instructed to fill out a job application with all my personal information. Which I sent back to them. After 3 days of them having my write 1500 word pages, they sent me a check for 4,450.00, as soon as I opened the check I knew it was fake. I went to my bank and spoke with my personal banker who confirmed it was in fact a fake check. They want you to cash the check buy certain equipment and then send the remaining balance back. They also give you a vendor to go to, to buy these products. I now have to worry if these people are going to try and use my information. Please look into this. My bank (Wells Fargo) has had multiple people fall for this scam.

Type of a scam Employment

I was asked to interview for a data entry position, I was searching for a work-from-home position. I was asked to be a part of a google hangout initial interview. I signed on and was asked to tell them about myself. Everything seemed normal until I asked about more specifics of the job. The "interviewer" wouldn’t address my questions, and continued on with her questions. I googled the company and the website was very basic, and didn’t give much information about the company and what it did. I searched for the company on linkedin, but there were only 32 followers. I also googled the company, where I found that the company was only suspected of having 7 employees. All of these seemed a little odd, but I continued with the "interview." I started to get really suspicious when they asked me what bank I banked at to ensure it would align with their direct deposit options… so then I asked the interviewer if I could ask a few questions. She said yes. So I asked if there were any costs on my end associated with this job and I was wherry of the companies legitimacy because of all the other scams I have seen. I was very polite in my asked and ensure her that I meant to offense to my questions, that I was just trying to protect myself and ensure the company was legitimate. The interviewer then blocked me.
