i received a check and letter by ups to secret shop walmart and buy 6 gift cards. then to scratch off numbers on back and send pictures of them to this number he gave me. my fiance called the bank "the Rogue Credit Union " out of oregon and they confirmed it wasn’t real. scam.so we shredded them before realizing we needed the info for to report the scam

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
received a cashiers check for $3527.64, was told to go to CVS, Office Depot, Kroger, Food lion, Rite Aid and purchase 2 $500 cards from 3 different stores. Then scratch off the back to reveal the number and immediately email them the numbers from each card, totalling $3000. Was told to keep the rest for my time. Figured it was a scam before even attempting this. Received a text today telling me to complete my assignment and email them the card numbers asap. Also, received identical envelope in the mail today for someone else, my address though. Came from same company, Lockheed Serv. Inc. this was definitely too good to be true.
