Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Sent a fake check through UPS mail. Amount of purchase was $1,000 for office furniture. The check sent was $2250.00. He said his assistant made an error that mistakenly added mover fees on the check. Said to go ahead and deposit check and just give balance to them when they pick up furniture.

Took check to Wellsfargo and had them look up account. There was an account but it had been closed. I later looked up the address and called the number. The business was legit but this was their second call today about someone else who receieved a check in the same amount for a $900 bed purchase on craigslist.
