My 69 year old widowed mother announced on Christmas Eve that she was in love and engaged to a man she met on the internet and moving to California. She had a dozen fake roses and a $32.99 ring from amazon with a typed note "will you marry me". After asking several questions I realized that she is being scammed. She will not admit to sending money but I believe she has and she is completely in denial and will not listen to reason. I found the stolen profile picture all over the internet and attempted to explain that the person in the picture is also a victim and she admits that it is his picture but she refuses to believe me.
