I found an ad in So Scottsdale claiming that Jo Paris, or Jo Ouaknine, won the ‘2015 best of scottsdale’ for hair color excellence. I googled this company and can not find any information about the organization. I have asked around and found that another cosmetologist got the same email from the same company and all they needed to do to ‘claim’ the award was pay $200 for the physical award. This is a false award from a shell company.

I have found several other ‘companies’ that I believe are another division of the same company awarding this kind of award for other cities on the BBB.org site and they are all non-accredited businesses due to false awards.

They (Jo Paris) claimed the award was given to them by the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce but I could not find any award by this name awarded by the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce or JoParis, or Jo Ouaknine, as a recipient of any award from the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.

I did not ask about the Cannes Film Festival because it is only on their web page and previous ads with So Scottsdale that makes that claim.While I have no personal loss of damages due to this false advertising I have found through my research that this is a misdemeanor under AZ law and I feel that this salon owes damages to other salons in the same magazine for advertising false claims.
