Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

This scanner uses an app called Text Now. He got my resume off of indeed and contacts me offering a job to be his personal assistant. He said I will work 15-20 hours a week and get paid 500 dollars a week in advance to complete tasks given to me. He mentions he is out of town so he will just send me tasks via email or through text. He sends a check in the mail and emails you the tracking number and the amount of the check and you are to deposit it into your bank account. After the check clears he says to take out your 500 dollars and send the rest of the money to a matron who’s details he will give to you soon after the check clears after about 24 hours. The scam is its a fake check and if you cash it your account will be frozen and you will be responsible for the stolen funds.
