Type of a scam Debt Collections
Person called my work, left a message for me stating that they were with Jenkins Logistic Service and gave a ref number. When I called the phone number given, they answered the phone stating they were Watson and Stephen’s. Spoke to a lady named Passion C***. She stated that she worked for a company trying to collect a debt I owed to *** from 2001. She stated my entire social security number and my entire home address. Originally she told me it was for a land line, when I told her that I’ve never had one, she stated it was a cell phone. She proceeded to tell me that I owed 475.42 and that I had until 3:30 to pay it. She stated that the company had already sent letters about it to my home. I explained to her that I was working and wouldn’t be able to do it. When I spoke to her again, she stated that she was wrong on the time zones and that I had until 5:45-6 to pay. She told me that if I didn’t pay it today, they would send me a summons for court and that they would garnish my wages. I told her that I don’t even know if I had *** 18 years ago. I also told her that I did not have the money to pay and she started asking if I had family that could help me pay the bill. She also then remembered that I could pay half now and half on the 15th. I explained to her that I did not even have that money, so they would have to send me the summons. Not long after the call, I received another call from a scam number and then another call after that from an Ohio number. A guy stating that I need to pay a bill, but I could not understand what he said.
