Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Using cars.com to sell my vehicle, was immediately contacted by multiple texts. One said they would pay full price, had a story out of town but would have their company come pick it up. They would send a certified cashiers check and once it cleared, we could transfer the title and set up the pick up. A few days later, due to a wife’s sickness they stated the check was in the mail but it was for more than asking so that I could pay for the shipping. Once I stated this would no longer work for me as I did not believe it was legitimate the person never responded.
