Type of a scam Phishing

Received "friendly" greeting to view porn photos and participate in neighborhood activity if interested. It arrived on a group cell phone text. I checked the phone numbers on group and no one was on my contacts. After 3 days, no one had responded and I got another invite similar to it with mostly the same phone numbers. I went to sprint , my cell phone provider, and they told me that a group text cannot be blocked and they would not take my report even though porn is a crime. They had no other suggestions. I searched the 14 area codes and they are from a variety of states , nationwide none of which are in my area code .
