Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency

Received a telephone call on June 28, 2016 from individual claiming to be grandson, Shane (bad connection on call). Shane was in an accident and to call James Johnson 862 2394235. Called James Johnson and James Johnson stated grandson was in an accident and had consumed alcohol and was jail. Caller stated to go to Walmart and purchase a money gram $1,150.00 and an additional check $750.00 send to Jazz L Alston. Money gram was to be made out to Jaxx L Alston in the State of New Jersey (no address just State of New Jersey). At that Walmart stated that it was a fraud and would not send it. Walmart employee tried to contact James Johnson; however, James Johnson hung up on Walmart employee. Walmart advised to call grandson so called son who stated grandson was at home asleep. Situation was dropped.
