Type of a scam Online Purchase

After sharing a few emails back and forth on an ad I posted in craigslist for my motorcycle, I started to get suspicious and started investigating. Here is what the most recent email said,

"I want to buy the motorcycle and i will be paying in cash. However, I’d really want to take a look at history report before i come to check it out. I’d really appreciate if you can get it from vehiclenote.com because I’d like to repay you if we cut a deal, and they’re a lot cheaper than carfax or something else. If everything comes out clean on the report we will set up a meeting and I am getting the motorcycle."

This doesn’t make much sense and I have read here other scams run with this name and using the same website. Hopefully this helps someone else.
