Type of a scam Government Grant

I was contacted on Facebook via Messenger by a known friend who said she got a free IFC government grant to buy a new home. She gave me the website address where I could apply. I did. Within minutes they told me that I qualified for a $500,000 grant. This sounded suspicious but I texted the IFC agent that would further help me. He asked for a $5,000 one-time fee. I did a little homework and contacted my friend, who supposedly had messaged me, offline. She confirmed it was not her who had contacted me. Needless to say I will not be sending them any money.
