Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I posted two cabinets for sale on Offer Up. Someone named "Nat" responded, telling me his uncle wanted to buy both cabinets and to contact him at this email address: [email protected] As offerup blocks the sharing of email addresses in initial contacts, the email address did not show up. I sent a reply to have him contact me at my email address, [email protected] When his "uncle" "Anton Parker" replied (email address: [email protected]) , he offered me $1,000 for both (my asking price was $500 each or $900 for both). Subsequent emails ensued about payment, he offered to send me a cashier’s check, I asked to meet him at a bank to receive cash. Instead he sent by overnight mail a cashier’s check for $1,900, where the additional $900 was for shipping the cabinets to him (we never discussed the price for this.) I told him I would let him know when the funds had been deposited in my account and then we could arrange his hiring a shipping company to come pack and take the cabinets via courier service. I deposited the check with my credit union, *** ** *** ** and asked when the funds might be deposited. I was told a three-day hold. I received a call yesterday from a representative at *** informing me that the check was fraudulent. An email from the *** representative then sent me this link to report this event to the BBB.
