Type of a scam Employment

I applied for a job at "Freeman Finance" in NYC through the website "internships.com". I was contacted via email and text a day later by a person claiming to be Gloss Mike, the "department manager" of Cox Enterprises. We scheduled an interview through Google Hangout for the following day and then proceeded with the interview the following day. After the interview was complete, Mr. Mike immediately offered me the position I was interviewing for and claimed that he would be sending me a check to purchase the software required for the position. I gave him my address but realized afterwards that the whole exchange was suspicious. I contacted the staff at internships.com and they suggested that I report this scam to the ScamPulse.com. Attached below is the initial email I received from "Gloss Mike". I also have the chat logs from the Google Hangout interview if needed.
