Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was sent a letter & check for $2,450.00. I was to keep 400 as my payment, 50 for gas or transportation and I was instructed to go to my nearest CVS, purchase 2 AMERICAN EXPRESS GIFT CARDS (with special emphasis *NOT A AMERICAN EXPRESS SERVE CARD) for $500 each. The go to a local Wal-Mart and get 1 WAL-MART VISA CARD go $500 and 1 for $450. All totaling $1950.00. I was then suppose to Text/ Email a picture of the receipt and a CLEAR picture of the front of each card and the back making SURE you remove them from their package and a CLEAR picture of info on the back. They wanted you to remain unanimous to the cashier and gave you 7 things to look for like is store clean, knowledge of agent, any problems or comments.
