this person, who is going by the name of Robert Williams, is calling posing as a Tech that is coming to cut off power to the utilities because of lack of payment. He said we could stop him from coming if we call:

Type of a scam Utility

I received a call from someone saying they were from Georgia Power. They called my business saying that the power was going to be shut off for non payment. At the time I was pre-occupied by my wife’s medical condition. They wanted me to purchase one of those prepaid debit cards to pay $742.11 which I did do. They made is sound so real by providing phone numbers and a Reference Number 0871141. I did realize later that it was a scam and have reported the incident to the real Georgia Power and to the police department.

I received a call from someone saying they were with Georgia Power and demanding that I pay a past due bill. I asked the lady to speak with a supervisor and she said she was. I was looking at my account online and I kept asking how much do I owe because my account shows a zero balance. She started to get angry and finally hung up. I also called georgia power and they said that the number was not on their list of numbers.
