Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
On April 20, 2018, I was contacted by email by a person named Danny Smith. He asked me to translate an academic English document to Korean, and asked my name, address and phone number, saying his sponsor would send me the payment. On May 22, 2018, Danny Smith’s so-called sponsor, Edward Dolan from NJ, USA, FedExed me a counterfeit check. The check was written as if it was issued by National Bank of Canada but my Canadian Bank notified me that it is fake. I am attaching a copy of the counterfeit check, FedEx envelope with the scammer’s name and address, and copy of the email conversation with the scammer.
