Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a call from Jessie asking for Mrs….. I told them there was no Mrs that lived here. She then asked for Mr or Miss ….. I told her I was Miss….Jessie informed me that they were a company that did surveys for the ScamPulse.com and that because I had participated in their survey a year ago I was eligible for a $300 gift. I asked what survey and was told it was about air quality and pollution. I told her I never participated in this survey. She then tried to tell me that someone else in the house must have participated in the survey. I told her I lived alone. She was insistent that someone at this number had done this survey and asked if I wanted a free $300 gift. I told her no and take her scam someplace else and hung up..

The phone immediately rang and it was Jessie telling me she had worked for this company for 8 years, I could look up the company online and they were not scammers. I told her that anyone can set up a website and she was calling telling me that someone at this number had filled out this survey and it may have been online.and if it wasn’t me it was …. which is my fathers first name which he does not use. I told her that although this was my fathers address he was computer illiterate and had early onset alzheimers and lived at a nursing home. She then tried to tell me that she got his name & number from a draw box.

I asked her to put me through to her supervisor. and if she was part of the ScamPulse.com she had to do this. The supervisor asked me why I was calling, I told her that I hadn’t called her,but that Jessie called and when I told Jessie to scam someone else she called back & tried to tell me she wasn’t a scammer. The supervisor said she had been with the company for nine years and they were not a scam. I told her that they were behaving like scammers. She then went on about having 1400 draw boxes including Sexsmith, Teepee Creek, Spirit River, Bezanson, Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and that someone had put my fathers given first name and umber into a draw box. There was no more talk about the air quality survey I asked her to take our telephone number off the call list. She went on about how I was supposed to watch these boxes and monitor if my families name and phone number was being put in by someone else. I repeatedly asked to be taken off the list which she would not do. I told her that they were behaving like scammers and I didn’t want to hear from them again. She hung up.

It is disturbing that they were representing themselves as being associated with the ScamPulse.com.

Although I was not victimized; my 94 year old father, whose telephone number they called, has the victim in the past ten years of legitimate and illegitimate organizations raising money over the phone for projects that he never supported before.
