My husband and I fell victim to a scam from a "breeder." He contacted them regarding purchasing a puppy as a wedding present for our wedding & they immediately showed him their "available puppies" and had him chose one. As soon as he chose a puppy, they immediately wanted payment through Zelle. He asked a few more questions about the parents of the pup/the breeder in general & everything seemed fine at first. Then, once we paid them, they fell silent. We asked for photos of our puppy & they were reluctant to send them, or flat didn’t send them at all. The puppy was also supposed to be shipped to us through some "pet logistics" company. When we inquired about the company, they couldn’t remember the name, or claimed our tracking information was at home & they would send it later.

Well, I started to become extremely suspicious of this all and started doing some digging of my own, which is how I located the actual breeder from which the scammers ripped their entire website. I contacted the legitimate breeder, who confirmed we had indeed been scammed & they were not related whatsoever to the scam website.

We attempted to contact the scammers again & request a refund for our payment, which we were denied. At that point in time we filed a police report, bank fraud report, FTC report & now this.

Lesson learned, if it doesn’t feel right, it’s not right. Don’t be afraid to ask too many questions, if you don’t feel satisfied, it’s probably a scam. If someone really wants to sell you a puppy, they are more than happy to dive in to all the details you need & even those you don’t think you do.

Saw the ad on the internet; clicked the ad and their pngage came up. Looked at puppies on the pngage; saw one we wanted. On the pngage it stated to contract via [email protected]; this was 4/9/19. I did this leaving my email address and cell phone number. They texted back to me to find out which puppy I was interested in. I told them which one and asked when I could come and meet the parents, see the puppy, and look at the kennels. We arrived on a date and time, 4/16/19 between 10 and 11 in the morning. I texted that I would need an address. They texted back the following address, 124 Edgewood Rd., Ardmore, PA 19003. I also asked if he came with AKC papers; I was told he comes with all papers including Vet records and a 1 year health guarantee. Was told ok to come. We drove 3 hours up from Salisbury, MD. Found the address to be a home in a residential section. I then phoned them at 267-308-5521 (which is what number the texts were coming from) and asked if I had the correct address. The gentlemen that answered was hard to understand but stated the address was correct. I told him I was just around the corner and he then hung up on me. We traveled 3 more hours to return home with no puppy.
