My mother was approached by a company claiming to be D & I contractors that they were at her house to repair pipes under her house. They told her they knew about the bad pipes because of information they received from the water meter. They told her the materials would be $750 and labor would be $750. She wrote them two checks in these amounts to an individual by the name of Teddy Chapel before any actual work was done. She is elderly and does not know if any actual work was done, but she had no water issues and the water company, Citizens Energy Group, said there were no issues and that they would not have sent anyone out for any sort of repairs. She later went to the bank to try to stop any payment on these checks but was told that they had already been cashed.
