Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was on the web looking for a part-time job.I saw an ad to be CVS for a mystery shopper and I did apply for the position. A few days after I received a package by usps informing me of my assignments it was to go to CVS to do a survey and I would be paid $300.00 from the enclosed "cashier’s check. The contact phone number was 7272224517 in the name of Derrick Thomas who is the "Client Representative". [email protected]

I received a letter in the envelope through USPS with the address, name, and telephone number together with a fraudulent check made out to me for the sum of $1820.00 The bank name on the check is St. Louis Community Credit Union dated 10/12/2018 It says cashiers check at the top and memo section says Re: Cerissa C. Hinson.

The instructions were to visit CVS after depositing the check in my account and funds will be available within 24 hours. I must deduct the $300.00 and go to any of the stores and pick 3 Best Buy gift cards and put $500.00 on each card. After purchasing cards I must open and scratch and peel labels take photo of the cards and email it with a report which they had sent with the check.
