Type of a scam Debt Collections

I received a phone call from a man named David Smith that advised that I took out a loan through Advanced America in 2010 at my bank in the amount $5500.00 and he verified the last four numbers of my social security number. He stated that he would talk with one of their mediators on a reduced payoff. He put me on hold and came back to say the agreed upon amount would be $501.00 then asking for my visa, M/C or American Express. I asked if he could send the statement to my home and he stated that he could send it to my employer. I advised that I’m retired and don’t work. I told him that I could not pay the money today and I would need him to send the statement. He then put me on hold again then advised that the mediator could take my credit card information and the would charge it on the day that I stated. I said that I was not going to give him any information that he could send the statement. He advised that he would not send a statement, that if it wasn’t paid today than it would go to litigation. I asked if I could have his business identification number and he stated no. I then stated that it sounds as though you are trying to scam. He got loud and angry, stating they would not give me any information and they would just send it to court and I told him to go ahead.
