Type of a scam Online Purchase

I had ordered a TV headphone (Sharper Image) through Amazon. When it arrived, I could only download music, not TV. I called Amazon to get the Sharper Image contact and Countrywide Tech answered. Even though I only wanted help with the headphone, they told me to go to my computer, (I had no idea why, but I’m not very computer-savvy) said I had a virus (Koobface) and they would erase it. Even showed me a Wikipedia page with Koobface on it, very dangerous, get rid of immediately, etc. Long story short, I ended up giving them 700.00 for a five-year plan to keep my computer virus-free. Recently I had a small problem and wanted to contact them. Was on line 25 minutes, no answer. I feel foolish but maybe this can help someone else.
