Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

A check in an unaddressed envelope with a USPS tracking slip attached was put in our mailbox from Commercial Tire, Meridian, Idaho, drawn on Zions Bank, Boise, Idaho in the amount of $2950.90. The check was deposited in our savings account, but the check did not clear and the money was taken back out of our account. A week later another check for the same amount appeared in our mailbox. We did not deposit this check. We called the BBB once we received notification from our bank that the check had not cleared.
