I was online and may have filled out something about taking surveys for money. I received a packet in the mail with one page of inatructions and a check. The instructions said deposit the check and buy giftcards which i did. However the day after I bought them , i noticed the check wasnt clearing . I questioned my contact person and told them.i was going to my bank. When i got to my bank, the banker said the check was on hold and was a fake. He calles the main office to put a stop on the check or my.acct wouldve been closed. Now my acct is restricted and i had purchased 1000 in gift cards and sent the contacf pics of the front and back of the cards

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a letter with an enclosed check for $2400. It said it was Forrester Research and wanted me to check out two Walmart’s for quality assurance. $500. was for my help and with the other $1900, I was to buy 4 gift cards at two different Walmart’s and then copy the front and backs of all four cards and email and text him when the job is complete. But it had to be done in less than 3 days.

I called the Frost Bank in San Antonio and talked to customer service and she said do not deposit check or buy the gift cards or you’ll loose your $1900 and not get the other $500.

They almost suckered us. Thanks to the smart and kind lady at Frost Bank
