Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I applied for an administrative/personal assistant job off of Kelly Services. I sent my resume through the website and heard back the next day. In his email he said that he needed my basic information to make sure it matched my resume. This was strange, but it’s information that he could see if he saw my resume. Then a few days later he said there is a check in the mail to me without so much as a phone call. That was the red flag. I destroyed the check and cut off communications with the person emailing me.
