Type of a scam Online Purchase

I rec’d a call from my niece that said she needed help because she ordered a mattress from this company on line, my mom let her use her credit card on paypal to place the order. when she got the confirmation from paypal it shows payment made to Tran Thi Mai. That is when my niece realized it may be a scam/fraud/fake website. We both sent emails but no response, we both called the number for the business. She never got a response but i did, a gentleman named Mr. Parker called me at my work (i work at a sheriff’s department) and he explained to me that he gets thousands of called because of this company. I had my niece go to my mom’s to cancel the credit card and file fraudulent activities in hopes of getting my mom’s money pack. Contact has also been made with paypal but doesn’t look hopeful for there help.
