Type of a scam Employment

I responded to a job posting ad on Workopolis. The company was looking for an administrative assistant to help set up a satellite office in my city. The job supposedly pays $1000 weekly. I responded and received a two minute "pre-screen" phone call from someone from the company asking me a couple vague questions. Then I received an email offering me the job and wanting my full legal name, address, and phone number, so they can mail me a check to start purchasing office supplies and furniture. The website looks fake, the address seems like it’s to another company, and the only information about this company is job postings.
