Ad on iPad for secret shoppers. Sounded good as part time. Responded with name, address, and email address. Didn’t hear anything until approximately two-three weeks later. The n a priority mail envelope comes in the mail, with instructions and a check for $1470.00. I was to cash the check and go to Walmart as a secret shopper and purchase 6 – $200.00 gift cards, scan front and back and send the purchase receipt also by text to one of two numbers provided. Then I was fill out an evaluation form describing the events of the process of carrying out the assignment. If I accomplished this within two days, I would be eligible for a $100.00 bonus and another assignment. What made suspicious was numerous typo’s and some improperly constructed sentences. After sleeping on this I began searching the Internet for reports of this kind of thing being a scam and sure enough, I found almost the same scenario with just some of the numbers being different. I thank the good Lord that I did not act on this and have lost no money. Warning, beware of offers that sound too good to be true.
