Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received an email from a person called David Williams, claiming to be from the company Best Mark. they were to send me the funds and material needed to complete an assignment, which was to buy iTunes gift cards and complete a short survey of the store from which I bought the cards. The check they sent me cleared at the bank initially, but was later (after the assignment had been completed) found to be fictitious, and I lost all the money in my bank account as a result.
