Type of a scam Identity Theft

Got a call that told me that I had suspicious activity on my apple ID. Looked up apple support number and a number came up. I called and he asked for my email and first and last name, and asked me to download an app called Team Viewer QuickSupport. He seemed suspicious to me and tried to tell him "I would call back" and he kept not wanting to let me go, I hung up, and he called me back from this Washington DC number.
