Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a call yesterday from Melissa Ferris, w/Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. She said I was the second place winner of American National Sweepstakes. I had won $950,000. She gave me a Federal security claim number. I asked why the taxes weren’t taken out before the winnings sent. She said normally that’s right, but this sweepstakes doesn’t do it that way. She told me to talk to Matthew Hahme at 703-349-0775. I called him. He told me I won. He said I would have to pay almost $2000. I told him I don’t have it. He said they have government financial aid for winners adn that he would call me back. I didn’t hear from him. So I called Melissa back this morning. She said she didn’t understand why Matthew hadn’t called me back. She would check the status. Then Matthew called. He said there is a registration fee. He said he had gotten in touch with government aid, and a check for $925.00 would be mailed to her but she would have to send him a bank certified check for $925. She said she didn’t have it. He said he would cancel the aid money, and that he would have to call Melissa and cancel her winnings as she couldn’t come up with the $925.00. I said that’s good idea and hung up.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a call from someone calling themselves "Tom Wells" from the "American National Sweepstakes". He said I had won $800,000 and I just had to pay $189 as a processing charge at Walmart. He told me he was calling back in 15 minutes to confirm how I should pay. I know this is a scam so I thought I would let ScamPulse.com know.
