Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

Letter arrived claiming my name was on a winning lottery entry that matched 5 numbers which netted $350,000.00. Authentic appearing check was enclosed for $5,650.00 to “help pay insurance, handling and shipping fees” of $4,700.00. A representative would deliver the remainder of the prize money in person. The letter instructed to call Josh Parker to start the claim process and a PIN was included for personal identification.

Victim received Letter & Check in mail for "America Mega Million Lottery Sweepstakes", Division of Unclaimed Funds, with offices in Nevada & England. Victim was not impressed with this scam and did not proceed as requested by scammers. Additional Letter info: Congratulation! You have won U$350,000.00 . . .Attached is a check for US $6,890 . . . to help you pay Insurance, Handling and Shipping fees. The amount is $5,600 (for these fees? You "keep" the rest?) . . please call your agent immediatly after receiving this document to activate your check and start the claim process: DAVID JOHNSON, Claims Manager, 1-226-808-7747 . .
