Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I offer French coaching and tutoring on Craigslists, and other platforms. I regularly receive messages from "clients" who immediately request the costs of so many lessons per month for their "sons" or "daughters". They usually tell me that either their company or attorney will make a check to pay for several french lessons in advance (and I receive very little information about whom I will teach, even when asked).

This happens several times, and knowing it is a scam, I never cash in the check and block the number. But this time I would like to go as far along to report it.

This time, I gave a fake name and my old address to send the check to, and asked the current residents of that address (whom I know) to send me a picture of the check attached below. As usual, they ask to cash in the check as soon as possible, and are very insistent to make sure I do. They tell me I will need to transfer some money from these funds to other people for "fees". DO NOT DO IT! You will transfer your own money, and will be liable for it!
