Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

Amanda Johanson Law Firm said they were based out of California and could forgive me of my student loans. I owed 50k in student loans; they told me to stop making the student loan payments to Mohela and start paying them (which in the long run would be 25k) while they came up with a law suit to sue Mohela that could prove they were not following the rules. I payed about 2k to the law firm in total before things got suspicious and the fact that I never spoke with the actual lawyer. Once I quit making payments to the lawyer they told me to email them saying why you deserve a refund, and it has been two weeks and I have heard nothing. Now, my actual student loans are in default with debt collectors and I am out money and making payments that I can barely afford.

This is a Student loan relief scam

They go by "Amanda Johanson Law Group"

Law Group indicated that they would help lower or eliminate a student loan; instead they took the funds intended and caused the student loan to default (apparently their original plan) then tried to claim a hardship exception. They also promised that my credit score would not be negatively affected; as of now the credit score has gone down over 100 pts and they have done nothing but accept funds.
