Multiple websites that advertise for small puppies, including AlwaysMaltese.com (said to be located out of Alabama) and SmartWhiteMaltese.com (said to be located out of Cleveland, Ohio). Asks for security deposit and/or full payment for the price of the puppy, and no puppy is delivered. Listed addresses are fronts (usually empty residential homes that are for sale). My mother-in-law was scammed out of $750 after speaking to a man on the phone numerous times. Since he received the money, she has not heard from anyone. They won’t answer texts or calls.
