Type of a scam Employment

It was an email job offer for a Freelance Content Writer from a Mr "Mark White" that on the surface appeared legitimate from Allvoices California. Website address is diffeent from the actual website. Web address allvoices.com leads to another link: http://create.pulsepoint.com/ which features a login screen but does not appear to have any other information such as rights reserved date that most websites have. Nor does it have a menu to go to an About or Contact page.

I originally applied to the position through a more legitimate community site Localwise California. Conducted an interview via Google Hangout and said the position was remotely. Asked for address. My eyebrow rose when I could not find a physical address or Linkedin profile page nor a Facebook account. I asked the person if they had a Linkedin or Facebook account to see if there was more information on Allvoice California. But did not receive a reply on about either pages. Than the person asked if I wanted to receive a check for the position or a direct deposit. Than that’s when I stopped messaging. Fortunately, I received a notification from the Community Manager from the website Localwise: www.localwisejobs.com that another user had noticed another position by Allvoices California that was a scam. Nevertheless, I would like to still file a claim.
