I googled “fedloan phone number” and the clicked on the first number that popped up and spoke to someone named “Louis Hernandez” who said he could put me on an income-based repayment plan for only $20 less than what I was paying. He asked me for my credit card information and I gave it to him like an [censored] and then he sent me paperwork to sign and I signed it like an [censored] and it didn’t really hit me until I got off the phone. I tried calling him back on the number I originally used and someone told me that no Louis Hernandez works there blah blah. I just put a hold on my account and ordered a new card.
