Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories

I work for the ******** ******** ****** and have talked with our state ScamPulse.com about these email scams. They are frequent and getting more frequent, usually targeting our attendee members (municipal leaders) and exhibitors (business/organizations who have services and products for municipalities). They claim to have either our exhibitor or our attendee list, with greatly exaggerated total numbers, and will offer to sell it to the email target. We suspect they pull our exhibitor list from the internet website we publish ******************* somehow. We get many email from our members who are alarmed at these scammers and when we’ve responded to them, usually their sending email and website are not viable.
