I was told when I called about loan forgiveness that it would cost $495 dollars and that I would only be charged if I was accepted into the loan forgiveness program. I was then charged even though my claim hasn’t been accepted. I was then told by multiple people that it is illegal to charge someone for loan forgiveness paperwork and I am now out $495. When I called the company and mentioned this to them they told me that I was misinformed and that I was charged. I told them I was aware of that and that it seems as though they are a scam, to which they assured me they aren’t. I was also told that I only had a very short time to make this happen and that we didn’t know what was going to happen in the next presidency therefore I needed to take care of it.
