My Story
Hi everyone!
My name is Alley and I’m an approximately two-year old Labrador Retriever on the search for my furever home! I arrived to Stafford County Animal Shelter as a stray and surprisingly (or so I’m told) no one came forward to claim me. I am already spayed, am vaccinated, and microchipped (to help you find me if I ever go for a wander!).
When I arrived at the shelter I was in rough shape. You see I had some bad skin that required some medication and regular baths; after being on a sensitive skin food and now getting baths every other day, I am almost as good as new and am just the most beautiful chocolate color (which is appropriate considering how sweet I am)!
Since I have been at the shelter I have met several dogs; overall I have done pretty well and could probably live with another pup, but I absolutely love my people so would be content being your one and only too. I seem to know the “sit” command and am eager to please, so additional obedience training would be right up my alley (no pun intended haha). I could use some work on leash manners but am not too bad, and my tail wags non-stop because I am just so happy to be with you.
Since I am already spayed, there are no restrictions on adopting me, so anyone in or outside Stafford County and Virginia is eligible to come fall in love, I mean meet me. A meet-and-greet with children and/or any potential canine siblings is essential to ensure I am the best fit for you.
Thanks for taking the time to read all about me and feel free to reach out to the shelter if you are interested in me! See ya soon!

We want to express our sincere gratitude for considering adoption. While you explore the possibility of bringing a shelter pet into your home, we kindly request your understanding regarding one limitation we face: our shelter does not employ a resident veterinarian. Consequently, it is crucial that you make arrangements for necessary veterinary care for your adopted pet outside of our facility.
To proceed with the adoption, you will be required to present a photo ID that displays your current address. In the event that your address isn’t on your ID, you may bring a current utility bill that bears your name and address, alongside your photo ID. This verification process is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals under our care.
?Adoptions at our shelter operate on a first-come, first-served basis, unless otherwise specified. Please be aware that adoption services conclude 30 minutes before the shelter’s closing time. ?
You are more than welcome to visit the shelter during our regular hours of operation: Monday to Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sundays and Holidays: Closed
Our shelter’s physical address is 26 Frosty Lane, Stafford, VA 22554. Should you have any further inquiries or require additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 540.658.7387 or via email at [email protected].
Once again, we express our sincere gratitude for your thoughtful consideration of adoption and your unwavering commitment to offering a loving home to a shelter pet. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome you to the Stafford County Animal Shelter in the near future!????
