My Story
JayJay was surrendered when his owner had to go into assisted living.
Due to some neglect (whether intentional or unintentional) JayJay might be a bit of a project and potential adopters would need to be patient.
He was never housebroken or crate trained, but is learning in his foster home. Adopters would need to continue with this training.
He is overweight, so adopters would need to continue with limited portions and some walks to help him lose some weight.
He gets along well with other dogs, but larger dogs do make him nervous, but he’s done well with small and large breed dogs in is foster home. Not sure about cats.
He was never socialized with anyone in his previous home so he will be timid in a new place with new people, but he does warm up and when he does, all he wants to do is cuddle and be as close to you as he can possibly get.
He sleeps the night quietly and has rarely barked at anything.
He loves car rides and rides in the car like a perfect little gentleman.
He’s a lap dog in every way. He’s not interested in play or being in the middle of all the action. He just sits quietly off to the side, waiting for the activity to die down so he can cuddle with his person.
Potential adopters with small children would need to be aware:
JayJay gets nervous with a lot of activity and noises and tends to remove himself.
He can be very particular about how he’s handled and might be a bit snappy.
Given JayJay’s previous life, he should be with someone who would give him all their attention and make him truly a part of the family.
