My Story
STEVIE RAY is a mellow male teenager kitty with the softest fur and biggest purrs! He is a short-haired grey tabby and sports a combination of black stripes and polka dots! He was one of a litter of five kittens found living under a house and was very timid and fearful when he first arrived in foster care-but with patience, affection and interactive play sessions, Stevie Ray has blossomed into a confident, sweet boy. He enjoys daytime naps (under the covers), batting at wand toys, chasing large furry balls and joining in with his litter brothers and foster cat sister for romp and wrestle sessions. Stevie Ray enjoys sleeping with his foster parents and seeks outs morning belly rubs that gently wake him for breakfast; in the evenings he often settles in for lap-time cuddles. A sensitive fella who will run for cover from loud noises and hustle-bustle activities, Stevie Ray will settle best into a small family with a quiet, low-key routine. This sweet boy is looking for his forever family who will provide him with affection and playful attention.
Although STEVIE RAY was born with a vision deficit and is considered mostly blind, he has no special needs and adapts effortlessly. He tracks shapes and movements and confidently navigates his foster’s entire home (including stairs, tall cat trees, scratching posts, furniture and window sills) without any hesitation. He has readily demonstrated his vision impairment does not hold him back on any level, and the veterinarians he’s seen do not believe his vision loss will bother or limit him in the future.
STEVIE RAY has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet STEVIE RAY in foster care, please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. A volunteer adoption counselor will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $155 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
