My Story
Say hello to NAVI and VIOLET !
These girls are smaller dogs. NAVI (the lighter sable) is about 19 lbs and VIOLET (the darker sable) is 22 lbs. They are litter mates and have been together their whole lives. They are a bonded pair and we will be adopting them together. NAVI is more independent than VIOLET, but VIOLET really needs to be around NAVI. These 2 love to run and play and wrestle in the yard. Typical of shelties, they are barkers, and will bark at each other as they play. Once they are done playing in the yard they will happily hang out on the sofa with you, or want to snuggle with you at night in bed. They are very affectionate and love belly rubs.
They can be a little bit shy when meeting new people, but warm up fairly quickly.
They are crate trained, and are learning basic obedience skills. Leash walking is a work in progress and their adopter will need to continue to work with them on this skill. They are well behaved for grooming.
They get along with other dogs although bigger, barky dogs do intimidate them a little bit.
We adopt dogs to homes in New Jersey, or nearby states. We do not ship dogs and we require an in person home check for every adoption. No exceptions.
We prefer homes with herding dog experience, as herding breeds tend to have some quirks that other breeds do not. And, especially because these girls are still learning to walk on a leash, their adoptive family will need to have a securely fenced yard. These dogs are very active and need a safe place to burn off some of their energy.
