My Story
If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Hi, I’m Kailey! I’m a very friendly girl who loves meeting new dogs and humans, and I enjoy playing with the resident dogs. I mostly ignore the resident cats, although sometimes I like to chase them when I can get away with it. While I would love a home with another doggy sibling to play with, it’s not necessary if an active family will take me for walks and give me lots of playtime. I happily share my toys with other dogs and occasionally go to doggy daycare, where I play in small groups. I recently played with a friend’s puppy, and my foster mom said I did great!
I was a stray brought to our local Indianapolis shelter in February 2024. Due to a severe injury to my rear leg, the decision was made to amputate it. Walking on three legs is a bit more challenging, but the surgery hasn’t impeded my ability to stand, sit, or run. I still get overly excited and can be jumpy, so a home with older children would probably be best as young children might get knocked over. I love giving kisses to kids. I can sit, lay down, and am working on learning to shake. My foster mom thinks I might be a Lab/Husky mix.
I am spayed, weigh approximately 44 lbs., and am fully vetted. Right now, I’m long and lean with room to grow but will probably be a medium-sized dog. I am housebroken and in fact, I let my foster mom know when I need to go out and will patiently wait until I get outside.
I am ready for adoption and looking for an active family that can provide me with love, attention, and plenty of playtime. If you think you could be my forever home, please apply soon!
