My Story
Jelly Bean is one of six adorable little souls were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Mississippi. Found on a property with their mom (who is also available for adoption through us) and many other dogs in dire conditions, their story is one of resilience and hope.
A dedicated local rescuer went above and beyond to save as many dogs as possible from that dire situation, and we are thrilled to have this lovely family in our care.
Here’s a link to their story on FB – be prepared – the pictures are depressing at best:

These typically sweet puppies are well-socialized with other dogs, animals, and people of all ages. Their mama is a pit/beagle mix.
Jelly Bean is making progress with housebreaking, some over-night accidents still occur (as a puppy, she is left alone no longer than 4 hours at any time).
This precious girl immediately warms up to people and dogs. She is a bit of a jumper when greeting, but we are working on that.
Jelly Bean is a relatively high energy puppy; food motivated, and is picking up commands quickly. She does play well with other dogs, enjoys napping, but appears to be happiest outside playing and also enjoys exploring anything that catches her attention (birds, squirrels, rabbits, and even insects!)
Hard chew toys keep her occupied for good chunks of time. Sleeps well in a crate, but would prefer to stay on a sofa….cannot blame her that!!!

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.
PLEASE–Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he’s older. Puppy proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy’s life. Do you have the time?
Please consider purchasing this book before adopting. Perfect Puppy in 7 Days–How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, by Sophia Yin, DVM, is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have received amazing feedback on.
