My Story
Ikora is a medium-sized 10-month-old Catahoula Leopard dog mix who weighs 35 pounds. Ikora came to us as a stray in May 2024 and was very shut down and unsocialized with people. Not knowing what she’d been through or where she came from meant we had to earn her trust, and our staff has worked extremely hard to do that! Ikora is still very, very shy, and may need more than one meeting with a potential adopter to get to know you. She’s made incredible bonds with a few patient staff members and we think it’s finally time to find this girl her new home! She’s really opened up and showed more of a fun, playful side of herself with another dog present, so having a fur-sibling may help her acclimate even faster! She was tested for heartworms and Lyme and was negative for both. Ikora will be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated before leaving for her forever home.
