My Story

Neutered Male Age: 5 Years Brown Tabby Domestic Short Hair A441763 More about Freddie: In my previous home I was described as sweet and loving, and very fond of food … this sounds like a great training opportunity! I am a goofy boy who likes to sleep with the shoes of my people, and I enjoy a good chin scratch while snoozing. I am a shy boy who does not do well with change. I need an adopter who will let me move at my own pace and go slow. I will need a quiet room to settle in while I am adjusting. My adopter should be prepared to leave me alone for several days, except for feeding and cleaning, before trying to interact with me. It is a requirement that this room is not used otherwise while I de-stress. I need an adopter who is committed to giving me time and not pushing interactions. My adopter should understand  cat behavior, and be able to read cat-body language. I can be moody, and I can get overstimulated with a lot of touch. I need an adopter who understands cat-body language and can give me space if I need it. I do not enjoy forced handling, and I may need a fear-free vet going forward. I need a home that is not only quiet but enriching! I am a great  cat for a young couple that is looking to keep things fun in the home for their cat, while also making sure he is comfortable. I would love a home that allows plenty of time to play, as well as some cuddle time. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon – 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available  cats. Compatibility:  Dogs: No thank you.  Cats: No thank you, previously lived with a  cat and did not enjoy it. Kids: Maybe: clear boundaries should be set prior to them interacting with Freddie, as well as the meets should be supervised.
